The Lonely Red Lorry

This little red lorry, left alone
on the cold wet floor,
sad and forlorn
watching the door.

This sad red lorry
longs for the merry
bath-time again,
with the winsome twain.
For the frolicking twins
Are now in school
learning to follow the rules
of life and how to begin.
Dear lonely red lorry
Do stop feeling sorry -
Here Nenek is sad, too
Missing the squeals and laughter of the two
of the wet splashy bath-time hullabaloo
when ImanImran would soap you!
Ahh...they are already aged two, you know,
So to school they must go;
Learning to share
with new friends over there.

  1. TQ. They do learn a lot, being away from Nenek's pampering. A lot more independent and `tolerable' but me being who i am...i investigated the Playschool menu, much to the chagrin of the supervisor! Pissed off by this nosey granny when i asked about fruits in their diet, she said "oh yes, we serve apples and sometimes grapes" and i coolly told her, "cucu saya makan betik dan pisang." LOL!! apples and grapes indeed!

  2. Really? Well, I have a feeling they actually serve betik dan pisang but looking at you and how you approached them, the supervisor suddenly "changed" the menu!! Serve him/her right!

  3. the truth about our society...appearance is so important. I'd park my car right at the doorstep when i take the twins, and i make sure i dress correctly bcos the assistants would bend backwards to oblige. Well then...just how many GRANNIES would look like me in JB! In KL, plenty. The girls even spoke in english to the kids when they see me.."where's your shoes, Iman?" or "No Imran, those not your shoes". Tickled me a lot bcos I'd just go "Jom balik." Talk about double standards!

  4. First impression on a person is also vital. A warm handshake, pressed shirts, short neat (silver !)hair and clean car and presto, people will think you're a Brahmin! But people don't know that this same person have only coins in his name!

  5. you know there is only ONE impression that we make on people; the rest will be opinions they make about us. `The first impression is the ONLY impression' has never been more correct! I hate limp handshakes and mine isn't too warm either so that will be something i have to work on...
